Annual PTO Cash – Out request

Human Resources Policy B-3 Paid Time Off, II, D PTO Cash-Out

Full-time members will have the ability to cash out a portion of their paid time off each December. Members must have used a predetermined amount to be eligible for the cash-out. 

To qualify, you must have been employed with RFFR for at least one year and meet the PTO required utilization for that year. A cash-out must be requested in writing by December 1 of that year, as it will not be automatically applied to a member who qualifies. If you require an additional amount of PTO cash-out outside of policy, you must request in writing to the Fire Chief the additional amount, including the reason for the higher amount of cash-out for approval, which will be considered in the Fire Chief’s reasonable discretion and based on the available budget.

Responders can cash out a max of 48 hours per year, but they must have 96 PTO hours that remain in their bank after the cash-out.

Administrative personnel can cash out a max of 40 hours per year, but they must have 80 PTO hours that remain in their bank after the cash-out.
